NIGHT MYST was a slam dunk from the very first page. Just when I think to myself, “There is no way Yasmine Galenorn can outdo herself,” she proves me very, very wrong. I devoured this book. The characters were truly beyond mesmerizing–I actually felt like I was part of the story. I was on the edge of my seat and biting my nails, captivated by the twists and turns this story took. While fast-paced, the story didn't leave me feeling rushed as I read it. At turns dark and brutal, there were also times when it was poignant. There was no clear cut path, and I enjoyed the fact that the story might end in a matter of different ways. There are some sad parts (character angst-which is marvelous!), there are some very happy parts, but in the end I was left clamoring for more in this series. It's rare that an author can pull of a first book of a series with such gusto, but Ms. Galenorn nailed it! If you're looking for phenomenal plot action, kick ass characters that you'll fall in love with, lots of danger and intrigue, some delicious beasties and the promise of more in a series, NIGHT MYST is definitely the series for you. I couldn't get enough of NIGHT MYST and I'll be re-reading it again and again!
